Welcome!
Dear Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the full-day workshop "Frontiers in Computational Electrocardiology 2010: Focus on Systems Biology", which will take place on November 11, 2010, in Maastricht, The Netherlands.
The FiCE 2010 workshop is jointly organized by the Department of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht, Maastricht University Medical Centre and the Department of Knowledge Engineering, Maastricht University.
Computational techniques play an ever increasing role in the fields of Cardiology and Electrophysiology. In 2008 Maastricht University hosted the first edition of FiCE, a one-day workshop in which eminent and promising investigators from Europe and the United States presented their views on the current opportunities and future challenges of computer modeling in electrocardiology. In the 2009 edition, the focus was on electropharmacology, and this workshop was at least as well received as the previous edition.
During FiCE 2010, a number of national and international experts in the field will discuss the integrative aspects of systems biology in the cardiovascular system. The keynote lecture will be delivered by Professor James N. Weiss, M.D., Kawata Professor of Medicine and Physiology, University of California Los Angeles.
Apart from the workshop, a dinner is organized on the evening of November 11, for which you can register. This social event creates an extra opportunity for interaction with the speakers and other participants of the workshop.
Further information about the workshop and its detailed program will be announced at this website. Registration for the workshop and/or the dinner is possible at the website Frontiers in Computational Electrocardiology (see registration page). Please take note that only a limited number of seats are available, registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop and to some interesting discussions!
